TWO-YEAR DANCE

Our TWO-YEAR SIXTH FORM DANCE COURSE offers a top quality alternative to A Levels and gives our students a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dance (verified by RSL) which is the equivilent to three 'A Levels' (and up to 168 UCAS points). Our full-time vocational course runs from September to July each academic year and focuses on exceptional training in all genres of dance, working towards consolidating technical and performance skills alongside a small amount of course-work with over 30 hours of practical tuition per week.

Using our direct links with the UK's leading Musical Theatre training academies, our aim is for all our students to either obtain a place on their chosen course at their desired performing arts institution or obtain professional work within the industry by the end of the two year's tuition.

Prospective students (aged 16 and above) must have a strong passion for the performing arts and a solid technical training in dance, with the determination to be the best they can be. They must be prepared for a tough schedule of classes each week, including body conditioning and stretch classes.

All tuition will takes place at our studio complex in Canterbury, Kent, led by our incomparable faculty of leading industry professionals.

Each year includes two performance opportunities at the nearby Malthouse Theatre, and performances at 'Move It'.

A typical day at JGHA starts at 8.30am with a company warm-up and genres studied include Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Commercial, Tap, Conditioning, Stretch, Acro, Acting, and Singing, finishing at 5.30pm.
